A campaign for technology
that answers to us.

We like powerful tools.
We use them every day.

Think.

Human rights are our starting point. Every breakthrough inherits them. They are not enough. New norms of protection, ownership, choice and control are necessary.

We check that what we are talking to is what it claims to be, that it keeps what we send to itself, and that what we were shown is what we were told. A promise from a system that refuses to be checked is marketing.

Provoke.

The bargain on offer is extraordinary capability in exchange for a smaller say, each year, in how the world works. The tools get smarter. The terms get longer. The exits close one at a time, and dependence is taken for consent. We decline.

A smarter computer is not a mandate. Your roadmap is not our destiny. Whoever depends on a system has a say in how it is run.

We defend private thought, open inquiry, and the freedom to make something its owners never intended. Everyone deserves a livelihood, a voice and a future, whatever a benchmark says. We ask who owns the gains and who absorbs the damage, and we answer for the risks we impose on others.

Fix.

We write code that runs for the one asking. We make it open, so a claim can be checked. We keep what we can where we are, so everything that leaves has a reason. We make it leaveable, so everyone can take their history with them. What we make will be borrowed by systems we do not run, so we make the borrowing answer to us: on our terms, for a purpose, for a time, with an account rendered.

We measure work by what it makes possible. Can someone understand it? Challenge it? Change it? Leave it? Can they do tomorrow what needed a gatekeeper's permission yesterday?

Ship.

Some of us write code. Some write contracts, run experiments, organise, raise money, design things that can actually be used, or keep the whole operation alive. Whoever or whatever you are, your work makes you one of us.
